Getting around downtown Carbondale is easy. There are many options to choose, including Festival Shuttles, Taxi, Cycle, & Uber.
The City of Carbondale festival street closures are located at South Washington Ave, between the intersections of Walnut and Main St (HWY 13 W and HWY E). The second closure is West Hospital Dr. between S. Illinois and S. University Ave. The closures will provide the additional space needed for entertainment.To help navigate the closures, please view our interactive map above (See Entertainment).
Two Jackson County Mass Transit buses will each make two trips per hour (for a total of 4 trips per hour). They are scheduled to run Aug 19 – 21, between 9 AM to 6 PM. The route will be between the Civic Center and the Student Center only.
- Shuttle Parking
Shuttle service will be provided to and from these locations to Carbondale City Hall/Civic Center during August 19-21. The cost is $5 (cash) or $7 (card) per vehicle. The shuttle will operate daily from 10 a.m.-1 a.m.
- Premium Parking
Premium parking in Lot #4 (just south of Grand Ave.) will be available for $20 per day.
- Metered Parking
All city-owned public parking lots will be open to the public on a first-come-first-serve basis. Two-hour metered parking will be enforced.
